Golden Faith - Ep 12
Thursday, June 5, 2008
Golden Faith Episode 11 didn't have any Yan Yan, because she'd been abducted. Really the whole episode was about how the Dings couldn't involve the police, and how they had to save their precious daughter...etcetc.
But by Episode 12, Ivan saves the day again. And, Yan Yan's back at home, safe and sound. Oscar, knowing Yan Yan lost DD (that is, her bear), offers to get her another, because they have to have matching teddies! No matter what!

The thing is though, by now Yan Yan has some sort of strange aversion to Oscar. Much preferring to be with her eldest brother.

She actually PULLS AWAY when Oscar tries to touch her. Oh my favourite siblings! Don't do this to me!

Watching the scene, the tension is obvious, and Oscar looks more than a little uncomfortable.

But fear not! By the time it's Yan Yan's birthday (I wonder how old she turned?) all's well in the world again.

Clinging resumes.
(Insert audible sigh of relief)

Family snapshot. They are the best!

At this point of time, daddy Ding and big bro Ding have gone off with the police, and the situation in the household is tense again. Yan Yan is predictably clueless, happily looking through her presents. The one she's just opened seems particularly good so...

...of course her first instinct is to share it with her yi gor! Not her mum, not her aunt, but yi gor!

Note the progression of Oscar's expressions.

And with Yan Yan facing the other way, he sinks back to his sullen self. It's a nice camera angle, where one can see the contrast in facial expressions.

The familiar clinging. He doesn't object one bit. Both are Oscar-Yan Yan trademarks. And if you look carefully, you can see how Oscar grasps her wrist tight, much like when he was trying to save her.

She also asks him what he wants to listen to after that. That's awfully considerate, and it's adorable how she wants to please him.So, not as many moments as Episode 10, but still enough to put a smile on one's face.
As per usual, slightly bigger pics
here. There's also a few there that I didn't add in this time round.
