Golden Faith - Ep 10
Wednesday, June 4, 2008
Episode 10 was chock full of great Rayolie moments. Oscar tries to liberate Yan Yan from the monotony of a sheltered life, and foster her independence, to varied success. We know it's something Yan Yan obviously needs. Trust her doting brother to fight for her rights.
Caution, long post ahead! Also,
specially dedicated to Clesias. LOL!

First Oscar decides to teach Yan Yan simple household chores, which Yan Yan absolutely delights in doing. But her happiness is shortlived when their mother is shocked at the sight. God forbid her daughter break a nail!

And the housekeeper obviously wants to keep her job.

Oscar's loafer ways come under fire, and he looks adorably guilty. I don't get why some people criticize his looks in Golden Faith. He looks right hot in a good many screencaps.

All this while Yan Yan is still fuming, and manages to look equally adorable as well. Must run in the genes ;D I like the parallel between the two scenes.

Still the family's baby girl. Yan Yan decides to save her brother from the burden of the family business by volunteering to help out.

Daddy is very proud, but mummy STILL insists Yan Yan is not even allowed a pen.

Here daddy rants about how one (Yan Yan) would love to help out the business but is not allowed to, and one (Oscar) doesn't want to help and is being forced to. Then...he says the best thing in the episode:

"It'd be good if I could mix the two of you together!" - And the first thought that entered my mind was "RAYOLIE BABY!!"
And here I was insisting on no incest. This show is corrupting my morals!

On a much more innocent level, Yan Yan is very interested in how she and Oscar can be mixed together too.

A juicer, that could work! :D

By the way, I'm loving the father-children relationship here. There's such warmth. And it's cool to note that in Tai Chi, Paul Chun was Raymond's dad, and Rayolie didn't need a juicer to be blended together...RIGHT. STOP ME. AND MY METAPHORS.

Next day, Step 2 of "Oscar's grand plan of the liberation of Ding Yan Yan" commences. He plays the devil's advocate and tempts her to go out and have fun instead of practising her piano. I'm liking how, in another circumstance, had they not shared the same parents, this scene could be read as a whole lot of flirting.

Darn! Mummy appears and destroys hopes and dreams!

Oscar's SO not pleased.

Poor photogenic, lovely, forlorn Ding siblings.

The younger two Ding siblings are still very upset. And no, they are not getting into any hanky panky in the backseat, they are, believe it or not, binge eating.

Oscar doesn't want to give up without a fight. Yan Yan is pulling her best pout.

And Ivan turns out to be the best big bro in the world! He actually lied (probably for the first time in his life), to help them elope get them out of the house. Let's go play Ding sibs!

Oops, their secret is exposed.

Can't fight against compelling evidence unfortunately.

Look at how she clings on to his shirt! Yet another endearing Oscar-Yan Yan trend, if you remember the scene when he first comes home.

The eyes say all.

Victory! Thanks to big bro again! I love these siblings!

Step 3 of Oscar's grand liberation plan. Sorry, didn't catch what it was...was too busy looking at how he has his hand on her back.

Ok, so Yan Yan gets to find her way to where ever mum's headed, and she's really excited. So as soon as mummy steps out of the door she goes: "Yi Gor! Can I go now?"

Oscar replies: "So fast? But that's the same as following mummy there." Oscar's logic is flawless. XD

Being the responsible brother, he trails her, while she thinks she's making her way there all own her own. But even then...things go wrong...

People pull up in a van out of nowhere. Oscar runs and fights them, trying to save his sister. But then one of them pulls out a knife and slashes his wrist. Oscar instinctively pulls his hand away from his sister's and fails to save her!!Dramatic ending! What will happen next?!
Till then, slightly bigger versions of caps
here, and with no watermarks
here.
